and distribution of weight-related products and process-control

1970s
In 1971 Mass Measuring Systems was incorporated in Johannesburg
South Africa.
In early 70’s Mr. Pape Killian proudly
opened the front doors to Mass Measuring at 21 Orion Road. These
premises to date still boasts one of the largest scale
manufacturing, design and engineering of its sort in Southern
Africa.
1980s
In 1981, Mr Killian and his team grew to become the largest
scale company in Southern Africa.
During the 1980's, Mass Measuring Systems
built on its position as a major competitor in the weighing
industry by including weighbridges and the manufacturing of all
types of weighing systems purpose built for the Southern African
market. They felt the same commitment made to the mechanical
scale business should be made to the electronic scale industry.
"Service, selection and speed" became a slogan the entire
industry welcomed and depended on Mass Measuring Systems ability
to deliver not only service excellence, but manufacturing
excellence. In 19**, Mass Measuring Systems donned its new
title of Masskot Scale, a name which was set to become
synonymous with service excellence through out the industry. Masskot
scales weighing systems, strong application, engineering and
support set the bar for the entire industry.
1990s
Mass Measuring Systems became an industry leader in weight
related technology serving a wide spectrum of industries;
Mining, Bulk Construction Materials, Chemical, Food & Beverage
Processing, Timber, Pulp & Paper, Manufacturing, Packaging &
Material Handling, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Supply Chain
Management, Transport & Logistics, Utilities & Waste. Mass
Measuring Systems products and technology covered applications
from basic weighing and data collection to on-line scale
diagnostics and real-time monitoring, from recipe formulation to
traceability systems, from truck management to inventory
management, and beyond.
In 1990, Mass Measuring was the founder of
the South African Council of Scales “S.A.C.S”. Through this
powerful council Mass Measuring Systems tries to ensure fair
trade and information sharing through out the entire South
African scale community.
2000
Mass Measuring Systems now offers over 6000 weighing, control,
data collection and communication products with over 200 000
items in stock and available for same- or next-day delivery.
Additional products manufactured and/or
distributed by Mass Measuring Systems include the highest
quality bench, crane, counting, and floor scales, remote
displays, balances, printers, junction boxes and hardware.
Today
Mass Measuring Systems continues to lead the way in the
development of new weighing and process control technologies.
Mass Measuring Systems corporate headquarters, metrology
laboratory and main manufacturing plant remain in Germiston,
Johannesburg employing over 100 employees. Additional branches
and distributors are located in all major regions across
Southern Africa and Africa These branches are located in Durban,
Cape Town, Upington, Middleburg, Witbank, Ermelo, Mozambique,
Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe
